Gouramangi Singh is widely regarded as one of the best central defenders in the country. He is tough, uncompromising and excels in aerial battles. He has played for some of the leading clubs in India and went on trial to Australian A-League club Melbourne Heart (now Melbourne City FC). His initial foray into professional football was with Dempo SC, where he won the National Football League and Federation Cup titles. Singh was part of the stellar Mahindra United side before returning to Goa with Sporting Goa. He then guided Churchill Brothers to an I-League triumph. Gouramangi made 11 appearances for semi-finalists Chennaiyin FC in the inaugural edition of the Hero-Indian Super League. Hero ISL 2016 will be his second season in the orange and purple stripes of FC Pune City. Career Highlights AIFF Player of the Year 2010 and best defender in the I-League 2008-09. Six titles with the national team (Nehru Cup 2007, 2009 & 2012; SAFF Cup 2005 and 2011; AFC Challenge Cup 2008) Winner I-League 2008-09 with Churchill Brothers.
