About
The India national under-17 football team, also known as India under-17s or India U17(s), represents India in association football at an under-16 age level and is controlled by the All India Football Federation, the governing body for football in India. The Indian team has never qualified for any FIFA U-17 World Cup to date, but will host the 2017 edition, and by virtue of being the host, they qualify automatically to play in the tournament. This will be the first time any Indian football team at all age levels, hosts a tournament at international level. Depending on the success of the team in the tournament and the success of the tournament, the All India Football Federation has hinted at making bids to host the FIFA World Cup in the future.
